Ongoing Care Programs

Gynecologic Care That Continues Beyond the Annual Visit

Most gynecologic conditions are not resolved in a single appointment. Managing menopause, monitoring fibroids, optimizing hormone therapy, supporting fertility evaluation, and addressing weight and bone health require ongoing clinical relationships — regular visits, result reviews, treatment adjustments, and proactive monitoring over months and years.

At Lapeer Women’s Health, Dr. Andrei provides structured ongoing care programs for women whose gynecologic health needs extend beyond the annual well-woman exam. Each program is built around your specific condition, your goals, and your stage of life. You see the same physician at every visit — Dr. Andrei — with continuity of knowledge about your history, your prior results, and what has and has not worked for you.

Ongoing care at LWH is not a subscription or a package. It is simply the kind of longitudinal gynecologic medicine that produces better outcomes — because the physician managing your care understands your trajectory, not just your current labs.

Ongoing Care at LWH

Nine Ongoing Care Programs — All at Lapeer Women’s Health

Select any program below for a full explanation of what it involves, how visits are structured, and what to expect as an ongoing care patient at LWH.

Menopause Care Program

Structured menopause management covering vasomotor symptoms, hormone therapy initiation and monitoring, vaginal atrophy, sleep and mood changes, and long-term cardiovascular and bone health — tailored to each patient’s symptom burden and risk profile.

Fibroid Evaluation & Monitoring

Initial fibroid evaluation and ongoing ultrasound monitoring for patients managing fibroids conservatively — tracking growth, assessing symptom progression, and timing intervention when watchful waiting is no longer sufficient.

Contraception Counseling

Comprehensive contraceptive review and selection across all method categories — hormonal and non-hormonal, short-acting and long-acting — with placement and ongoing management of IUDs and implants at both offices.

Hormone Therapy Management Visits

Ongoing visits to initiate, monitor, and adjust hormone therapy — estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA — with lab review, symptom reassessment, and dosing refinement at each appointment.

Bone Health Counseling

DEXA scan interpretation, fracture risk assessment, osteoporosis prevention and treatment counseling, and calcium, vitamin D, and medication management for women at all stages of bone health risk.

Infertility Evaluation

Initial gynecologic infertility evaluation including ovarian reserve testing, cycle assessment, structural evaluation, and referral coordination to reproductive endocrinology when advanced treatment is the appropriate next step.

Breast Care & Referrals

Breast health management including clinical breast examination, mammography coordination, high-risk screening protocol management, and referral to breast surgery or oncology when findings warrant further evaluation.

Sexual Health Consultation

Evaluation and management of sexual health concerns across all life stages — low libido, painful intercourse, vaginal dryness, postmenopausal sexual function, and genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).

Weight Management Program

Gynecologic approach to weight management — identifying hormonal contributors including insulin resistance, thyroid dysfunction, and estrogen decline, and integrating medical weight management with gynecologic care.

The LWH Ongoing Care Approach

Longitudinal Care — The Same Physician, Every Visit

Ongoing gynecologic care at Lapeer Women’s Health is built on continuity. Dr. Andrei manages your care from the first visit through every follow-up — with full knowledge of your history, your prior results, and your goals.

  • GYN-only practice — every visit focused entirely on your gynecologic health, no competing obstetric schedule
  • Same physician at every appointment — Dr. Andrei, not a rotating pool of providers or mid-level staff
  • Longitudinal result tracking — labs, imaging, and symptom progression reviewed in context over time
  • Treatment adjustments at follow-up visits — hormone dosing, medication changes, and monitoring intervals refined based on your response
  • Proactive monitoring — Dr. Andrei anticipates what needs to be evaluated next, not just responding to new symptoms
  • Coordination of specialist referrals when subspecialty care is the right next step — reproductive endocrinology, urogynecology, breast surgery, oncology

“Ongoing care is where gynecology actually makes a difference in women’s lives. A single appointment can diagnose a problem. It takes a relationship — with consistent follow-through, result review, and honest conversation — to manage it well over time. That is what I am here for.”

Questions About Ongoing Care at LWH

No referral is required. Lapeer Women’s Health accepts self-referred patients for all ongoing care programs. If you have a referral from a primary care provider or specialist, bring it — it provides useful clinical context — but it is not required to schedule your first appointment or establish ongoing care.
Visit frequency depends on your specific program and how your condition is being managed. Hormone therapy patients typically return every 3–6 months initially, then annually once stable. Fibroid monitoring may involve ultrasound every 6–12 months. Menopause care visits are usually every 3–6 months during the initiation phase and annually thereafter. Dr. Andrei establishes your follow-up interval at each visit based on your current status and management goals.
Yes. Patients transferring ongoing care from another gynecologist or primary care provider are welcome. Bring your most recent lab results, imaging reports, medication list, and any relevant records to your first appointment. Dr. Andrei reviews prior management thoroughly before making any changes — she does not restart care from scratch when prior documentation is available and adequate.
Yes — for appropriate visit types. Result reviews, medication adjustments, symptom check-ins, and follow-up discussions that do not require a physical examination can be conducted via telehealth at the Rochester Hills office on Mondays. Visits requiring a pelvic exam, lab draw, or in-office procedure must be scheduled as in-person appointments at Lapeer or Rochester Hills.
Most ongoing gynecologic care visits are covered by major insurance plans as problem-based office visits, subject to your deductible and copay. Coverage for specific services — hormone therapy monitoring labs, DEXA scans, ultrasound monitoring — varies by plan and clinical indication. Our team can help clarify expected costs before your appointment. Most major insurances are accepted at both Lapeer and Rochester Hills.
