How Lapeer Women’s Health Began
Lapeer Women’s Health was founded by Dr. Ramona D. Andrei, MD PhD FACOG — a board-certified gynecologist with a clear and deliberate vision: to build a practice where women’s gynecologic health is treated as the priority it deserves, not as a fraction of a busy combined obstetrics schedule.
Dr. Andrei had seen firsthand how a general OB/GYN practice — divided between delivering babies and managing complex gynecologic conditions — could leave women without the depth of attention their symptoms required. She founded Lapeer Women’s Health to change that, committing her entire practice exclusively to gynecology from day one.
A GYN-Only Practice Since the Beginning
From the first day Lapeer Women’s Health opened, it has been a gynecology-only practice. No obstetrics. No divided attention. Every appointment, every procedure, every surgical case is focused exclusively on women’s gynecologic health. This is not a marketing position — it is a structural commitment built into how the practice operates.
Over 25 years of GYN-only practice later, that commitment has translated into a level of diagnostic depth and surgical expertise that most general OB/GYN practices cannot match. Growing to Serve More Michigan Women
What began as a single office in Lapeer has grown to include a second location in Rochester Hills — bringing the same standard of focused, expert gynecologic care to Oakland County. Telehealth availability extends the practice’s reach further still, ensuring that geography is never a barrier to excellent care.
Dr. Andrei also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at Central Michigan University College of Medicine, contributing to the education of future physicians — a reflection of her belief that advancing gynecologic medicine benefits every patient, including hers.
